Vietnam is full of cultural intrigue and fascinating historical sites. Your tour of Vietnam begins in the buzzing city of Ho Chi Minh City where we visit local neighborhoods on foot and spend time in a nearby monastery to learn about spiritual beliefs. While in Saigon, as it still affectionately referred to by locals, you will visit a traditional medicine museum and venture to a small temple honoring 5 mother goddesses before visiting a monastery where the monks are happy to show you their home and give you an astrology reading.

While in Hoi An you will explore the city on a cyclo tour and learn about this UNESCO World Heritage Site with visits to many of the city's famous landmarks including the 400 year old Japanese covered bridge and its colorful markets. After discovering all Hoi An has to offer we depart for Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Here you can find out about the last emperors of Vietnam with insights to the lives of these imperial families.

Contemplate on your tour of Vietnam during a 1 hour spiritual Tai Chi session with Master Vuong in Hanoi. No previous experience is necessary and each person is taught about breathing and concentration technique. Later you are taken to the picturesque West Lake and the sixth century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda, from here it is just 700meters to the nearby Taoist temple of Quan Thanh which is dedicated to Tran Vu, one of the principal deities in Taoism. The tour finishes with an overnight cruise on Halong Bay. Witness the stunning limestone karsts that rise from the emerald sea in this breathtaking bay in northern Vietnam.

DAY 1 - HO CHI MINH CITY ARRIVAL

Arrive in the buzzing capital of Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure, spend some time exploring the vibrant streets and getting your bearings.

DAY 2 - HO CHI MINH CITY (B)

 

Today you will explore local neighborhoods on foot with your guide to better understand the city. Visit a family run temple and a small monastery on your tour of the backstreets. In the afternoon we visit Vietnam's first traditional medicine museum that displays many implements used to prepare indigenous herbs used today.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

 


DAY 3 - HO CHI MINH CITY - DANANG - HOI AN (B)

Transfer on a short flight to Danang and then continue to Hoi An. Take a cyclo tour of the ancient town, pass by the former merchants' homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colorful market in this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Overnight in Hoi An.


DAY 4 - HOI AN - HUE (B,L)

Enjoy a morning street food tour that is guaranteed to leave you hungry for more. In the afternoon you leave Hoi An for Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Full of mesmerizing tombs and mausoleums of the last Emperors, it gives an insight to the lives of imperial families.

DAY 5 - HUE - HANOI (B)

Spend the morning exploring the garden houses of Hue before heading to the Imperial Citadel in the afternoon from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. From here it's a short transfer to Hue airport for the flight to Hanoi.

DAY 6 - HANOI (B)

Today you head to one of Hanoi's oldest temples for a 1 hour Tai Chi session with Master Vuong. After you will visit Hanoi's sights including the Temple of Literature, gaining a fascinating insight to Vietnam's incredible past. You then continue on to picturesque West Lake and the sixth century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda.

DAY 7 - HANOI - HALONG BAY (B,L,D)

After breakfast you leave Hanoi for an overnight boat trip on Halong Bay. Arrive in Halong City late morning and board your traditional wooden junk or The Emeraude, a classic replica steamship of the colonial era for the overnight journey into the Bay.

DAY 8 - HALONG - HANOI DEPARTURE (B)

This morning enjoy a wholesome brunch as your boat weaves through strange-shaped limestone rock formations. Upon disembarkation your driver will meet you for the transfer back to Hanoi.

*As an optional extra and according to your flight schedule visit one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam 'But Thap' on the way back to Hanoi.

At leisure for shopping until your transfer to Noi Bai Airport for onward flight.

  • icon-quote-l    Nous avons visité essentiellement le nord depuis Hanoi jusqu'à la frontière chinoise, la région de Sapa et de Bac ha, très peu touristique et où l'on a pu rencontrer des populations locales en costumes traditionnels. C'était vraiment génial. Alors, voici les endroits a Visiter : Nord du vietnam : Hanoi - Baie d'halong - Sapa - Babe Lake ou Hoa lu Ensuite Da Nang pour visiter Hue & Hoi An, sans oublier Phong Nha Cave ensuite Nha Trang Beach et Da lat pour le beau paysage. Puis ho Chi Minh ville : Tour voyage Mekong( My Tho, Can Tho), les tunels de Cu Chi Cao Dai temple (voir juste l'architecture) pour les plages au sud tu vas Phan Thiet, Mui Ne. et visite les iles du vietnam : Con Dao est plus petit que Phu Quoc... Con Dao plutot pour culturel et paysage et Phu Quoc pour le paradis. Tout dépend des régions que l'on veut visiter et des activités souhaitées ! Pour le Nord du Vietnam, la période idéale est : Mars, avril mai et octobre, novembre. Si vous voulez voyager au Centre, je vous conseille de voyager dans la période de décembre à mai ou août, septembre. En ce qui concerne le Sud du Vietnam, la période idéale est de novembre à mai. Cela dépend bien entendu des activités que vous voulez réaliser. Par exemple, si vous prévoyez un trekking en janvier dans le Nord du Vietnam en dormant chez l'habitant ce sera plus contraignant qu'un simple séjour à Sapa avec balade et nuit à l'hôtel.   icon-quote-r
  • icon-quote-l    Bonjour. De novembre à mars, ce serai la bonne période pour visiter le Vietnam. L'hiver a été plus rude en janvier. Je pense que c'est une erreur d'éviter Hanoi. c'est la ville la plus intéressante dans ce pays. Pas de tour organisé en partant de France, très onéreux. il suffit de retenir un bon hotel à Hanoi pour 2 à 3 nuits et tout peu s'organiser là avec Colour of Viet. Sans problème. Je conseille de faire le tour de Hanoi, Dien bien Phu, Lai Chau, Sapa, Bac Ha et retour à Hanoi en une semaine. Pour moi c'est ce qui a de mieux. ensuite à Hanoi aller voir les "Pagodes Parfumées" très spectaculaires et moins de touristes, bien plus sympathiques que Hoa Lu, le "Halong" terrestre". puis bien entendu voir la baie d'Halong" tout s'organise à Hanoi dans les mêmes conditions qu'un "tour operator" et pour un prix nettement plus favorable.   icon-quote-r
