The Lao People's Democratic Republic, is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by Burma and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, and Thailand to the west. Laos is also known as elephant country millions (Lan Xang). 60% of the country's people are ethnic Lao, Lao Theung constitute about 30% of the population and Lao Soung account for only about 10% of the population.
Theravada Buddhism is a dominant influence in Lao culture. It is reflected throughout the country from language to the temple and in art, literature, performing arts, etc. Many elements of Lao culture predate Buddhism. Sticky Rice is a characteristic staple food and has cultural and religious significance to the Lao people. Sticky rice is generally preferred over jasmine rice, and sticky rice cultivation and production is thought to have originated in Laos. Sinh is a traditional garment worn by Laotian women in daily life. It is a hand-woven silk skirt which can identify the woman who wears it in a variety of ways. In particular, it can indicate which region the wearer is from.

Lao have many dishes very delicious, such as sticky rice is the main food in Laos. The national dish is Laap which is a salad of minced meat mixed with herbs, spices, and lime juice and, more often than not, scorching amounts of chili. And Laotian like dish barbecue as meat, fish, chicken, … Laotian created special drinks is beer Lao. It’s very delicious with standar quality.
